I was thinking about color analysis again and how convincing it is.
Wear these colors. Avoid those.
You’ll “come alive.”
You’ll “sparkle.”
You’ll finally “show up.”
I do think the transformations are real. People do look more visible and their faces are brighter and more defined.
The colors often match.
So technically, everything is working.
And yet, sometimes it still feels… assembled.
It’s hard to explain at first.
The palette is correct. The contrast is correct. The undertones are correct.
But the effect can read like:
“Hi, I’m Courtney. I’m a Dark Autumn.”
The clothing and makeup stops being something you’re wearing
and starts being something you’re demonstrating.
That Hegemonic Eye
I think part of it is how the system frames the goal.
It is very visual .
You are trying to harmonize with everything.
The goal is to enhance you and make you more noticeable.
Which sounds reasonable. But it subtly turns you into the focal point.
And sometimes that creates a strange effect.
You are more visible.
But not necessarily natural looking.
Its the same pattern I keep noticing.
When something becomes technically correct, but is still being actively managed, it can feel slightly constructed .
Not because it looks bad.
But because it doesn’t quite disappear.
